Update - OnePlus' new Instagram page just teased us with the word "Nord" in their latest post
For a while now, we have been reading news about the OnePlus Nord here and there. However, OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau just shared a new message on the OnePlus forums announcing a new smartphone product lineup. While he didn't officially announce the new name, he did share an Instagram link that revealed the name "OnePlusLitezThing".
As the name suggests, the OnePlus Lite will be a more affordable compared with the established premium flagship lineup. Pete Lau mentioned in his message that the team has been working on this for 6 years but will introduce the new device in Europe and India first, followed by the USA and the rest of the world. Why do they need that much time to launch a lite variant? Well, Pete understands many people wants a solid smartphone with an accessible price so I guess you can say they are still trying to find a balance.

To add on, he also stated that the new product lineup is handled by "a team of young, creative and enthusiastic OnePlus staff from all over the world, who have been working tirelessly over the past few months to bring this product line to life". Perhaps this is also signalling that the new device is aiming at the young generation? Time will tell.
