Just late last night, OnePlus has unveiled the 2nd-gen of the Nord lineup. Promptly called the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, it was officially launched in India at a starting price of 27,999 Rupee (~RM1587). Without further ado, here's everything you need to know about the new mid-range tier phone.
To kick things off, the Nord 2 5G features a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI chipset and multiple memory variants. In terms of RAM, it has 6GB, 8GB and up to 12GB which is a lot for a mid-range tier device. As for the storage, there are only 128GB and 256GB. The battery pack gets a respectable 4500mAh and the WarpCharge fast charging technology is super fast, as it supports 65W.

The display is quite good too, sporting a 6.43-inch AMOLED displaying supporting a 90Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution as well as a 32MP punch-hole front camera. There is a triple rear camera that consists of a 50MP (main) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (monochrome) sensor, it's also interesting to note that the main camera is using a Sony IMX766 sensor which is the same one found in the OnePlus 9 series.
Finally, the Nord 2 5G is using OxygenOS 11.3 based on Android 11 out of the box. The starting price is reserved for the standard Nord 2 5G (Blue Haze, 6GB + 128GB) model but not the others. This includes a Nord 2 5G (Gray Sierra, 8GB + 128GB) and an India Exclusive variant (Green Woods, 12GB + 256GB). With this in mind, the Malaysian market would probably get the Blue Haze and Gray Sierra variant.
