In May this year, it was rumoured that OnePlus would have a new foldable smartphone in early 2025. The company has been working on the OnePlus Open 2 for some time and could finally unveil it sometime next month.

Thanks to tipsters Yogesh Brar and Chunvn (via SmartPrix), we have more details of the OnePlus Open 2. Renders based on an alleged "late-stage prototype" show a change in the new model's design. The rear cameras will still be placed in a diamond formation in the same large circular module, so it doesn't look too different at first glance.

However, the OnePlus Open 2 will be larger but thinner than its predecessor. According to the source, the phone's thickness is less than 10mm when folded, making it very slim for a foldable device. It'll also feature IPX8 water protection, an upgrade from the OnePlus Open's IPX4.

Spec-wise, the OnePlus Open 2 will have the latest in flagship components. It will sport an 8-inch 120Hz main display, a 6.4-inch cover display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. For cameras, it will feature a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide camera, and 50MP telephoto camera at the back. On the front, the OnePlus Open 2 uses a 32MP and a 20MP sensor.

The OnePlus Open was never made available in Malaysia, so we don't know if this one will arrive here. But if it does, would you be interested in getting one? Let us know in the comments on our Facebook page, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
