According to OnePlus India, the OnePlus Open Apex Edition will launch on 7 August 2024. It features a new Crimson Shadow colourway to go with the original Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black colours. It's also expected to have more storage and new AI imaging tech. Considering that it's been months since the phone first launched, it could also feature some upgrades in specs.

Whether it gets any notable upgrades is unconfirmed, but OnePlus did confirm a VIP mode for enhanced privacy. Based on the announcement, the feature disables the camera and microphone when enabled. Sources also say it will disable location permissions. However, we don't know if it does anything more than that.
Local availability for the OnePlus Open Apex Edition is currently unknown. But we don't think it'll make its way to Malaysia. After all, the original never launched here. We'll give you an update if OnePlus decides to release it here. But until then, stay tuned to TechNave for other news.
