The wait is finally over. Last night, OnePlus released the OnePlus Open as its first foldable phone. That said, what should you know about it?
For your information, the new phone runs Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with Adreno 740 GPU. It also runs OxygenOS 13.0 based on Android 13. Screen-wise, the phone sports a 120Hz, 2K, AMOLED display for a more immersive user experience.
In addition, the device features a solid 4805mAh battery with 67W SUPERVOOC Charging. According to OnePlus, it could reach a full charge in 42 minutes. That makes the phone feasible for daily and work purposes.
As for the camera, this phone sports a 48MP f/1.7, 24mm (wide), 1/1.43", 1.12µm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS. It also has a 64 MP, f/2.6, 70mm telephoto camera with, 1/2", 0.7µm, PDAF, OIS and 3x optical zoom. The phone also runs a 48 MP, f/2.2, 14mm, 114˚ Ultra-wide camera with 1/2", 0.8µm, PDAF to complete the trinity.
As for the front camera, the phone features a 20MP, f/2.2, 20mm Ultra-wide camera, 1/4", 0.7µm. Meanwhile, the cover camera runs a 32MP, f/2.4, 22mm (ultrawide), 1/3.14", 0.7µm. Simply put, the phone packs a real punch for photography.
But it does not end there, the phone comes with a Fingerprint sensor that is side-mounted, an accelerometer, gyro, proximity as well as a compass. Notably, you will also receive an 80W SUPERVOOC Power Adapter (low voltage charging at 67W) alongside Type A to Type C cables.
The phone comes in 2 colours - Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black. You can pre-order the phone today from $1499 (~RM7162.97). This phone will be physically available on the US market from 23 October 2023 (24 October, Malaysian time) onwards. We have yet to confirm Malaysia’s release date for the phone, but it could arrive in a few months.
