Did you realise tablets tend to have more modest specs? For instance, the relatively recent Xiaomi Pad uses the Snapdragon 870, a three-year-old chipset. Even high-end ones might not feature the latest flagship chipset. But the OnePlus Pad Pro could do just that.
Yesterday, OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus Pad Pro could launch on 27 June 2024. The company claims it's the "most powerful Android tablet", which suggests it would feature a more powerful chipset than currently available Android tablets. For reference, that would be last year's Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

If this is true, the OnePlus Pad Pro will most likely sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That's because the Qualcomm chipset is currently the most powerful one available for Android tablets. This is quite an upgrade over last year's OnePlus Pad, which launched with the upper mid-range Dimensity 9000 chipset. Due to significant upgrades, the tablet could also be marketed as the OnePlus Pad 2 outside of China.
The OnePlus Pad and OnePlus Pad Go are unavailable in Malaysia, so we don't know if OnePlus will launch the OnePlus Pad Pro here. But would you be interested in getting one if it comes to our shores? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
