The name Carl Pei does not go unnoticed in the Android community. If you don't know who he is, Pei is one of the OnePlus founders with Pete Lau and this new rumour is kind of crazy. Him leaving OnePlus? There is no official announcement yet but someone has dug up some shreds of evidence.
It was first brought up by JonSigur, a Reddit user who posted some screenshots of OnePlus' internal memos. If you read the memos below, you would see that Carl Pei's name is nowhere to be seen and this is puzzling because he was the Head of Nord products, which the short video documentary featured. Now, it seems that Emily Dai, the CEO of OnePlus got appointed as the Head of Nord product line.
Androidpolice.com actually tried to reach out to OnePlus about this matter, but their spokesperson did not give any comment. In other words, this could mean that Carl Pei was replaced and left the company. It if it was not true, OnePlus would have just said no.
