According to a report by 9to5Google, OnePlus could close operations in several global markets as early as April 2026. That said, what should you know about it?

OnePlus is changing its marketing focus

For your information, the company will shift its focus to the Chinese market, while India will be their only affordable device market from now on. This is the second time OnePlus' global operations have been reported to be closing, which was denied by OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu in January.

Additionally, what has made speculation hot again is that Robin Liu has now resigned and returned to China. OnePlus has already reduced its global staff in Europe and the United States over the past year. Pete Lau's return to Oppo is another sign that OnePlus is now back to being a sub-brand similar to what Realme experienced.

Among the factors that caused OnePlus to withdraw from the global market is the crisis of shortage of RAM and memory chips which caused device production to decrease this year. ASUS has already confirmed that there will be no new devices this year. In fact, there are predictions that small manufacturing companies may go extinct due to high costs that make it impossible to produce products without incurring losses.
