OnePlus might have finally decided to add a new product category to its catalogue. The brand has started a contest on Twitter asking for everyone's help designing a pair of AR smart glasses, so could the brand end up using the winning design in its first pair to come?

Clicking on the link to the contest will direct you to a forum post filled with experiences of using AR and VR products from real users. From there, the participants could get inspiration for designing a product with a clear purpose, and people will actually like to use it.

OnePlus offers five ways to participate in the contest. One of them is writing your idea in a few paragraphs. You may also share a collection of your "photographic works related to Augmented Reality", a short video demonstrating your expectations of AR, draft designs with 2D sketches or even 3D renderings, and a model of your AR design with the materials you love.

To judge the contest, OnePlus is assembling a jury consisting of internal Staff Members from three departments - the Research Institute, the Industrial Design Center, and the Community Team. The jury will help with the pre-selection and nomination from different perspectives. Of course, what is a contest without prizes. There are three OnePlus Duffel bags, three OnePlus Buds Pros, and one pair of OPPO Air Glass. The company could also end up producing working prototype models based on the design and present them at offline stores.
