Recently, we’ve been seeing a few patents relating to foldable smartphones from different smartphone brands like OPPO, Samsung, HUAWEI, and Xiaomi. Today, there’s a new patent from OnePlus which indicates a tri-folding smartphone which has three-display.
According to the patents, it is believed that this patent document was filed in China 2020 and was published in July 2021 which was invented by Gao Yang. Today, what we see here has been included in the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) database. With that said, this patent has been given a stamp of approval and protection for OnePlus.
The OnePlus Tri-Fold smartphone can be folded in different directions such as a triangular standing position, flatten position, or a fold up position to be your ordinary smartphone. Although it looks interesting on the designs and flexibility, it might be tough to imagine how the real deal looks and feels like. It might be a super thick phone or a heavy one.
As of now, there’s still no official confirmation on the official release date and tech specs for it, but we are expecting it to be released by 2022 and let’s hope OnePlus will pull this complex design off by then. So do keep an eye for the upcoming news and stay tuned for more tech news updates on TechNave.com
