OnePlus might be returning to sell flagships at lower prices again

OnePlus started as a brand that sells flagship smartphones at affordable prices and was known as the 'flagship killer'. However, over the years, the company's pricing strategy has changed. It's now not-so-different from other smartphone manufacturers who make premium flagships, like Samsung. Rumour has it, OnePlus might be returning to what makes it the brand today, and that's selling flagships at lower prices.

Reputable tipster Digital Chat Station claims that OnePlus is working on a flagship smartphone line that would have a price ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 yuan (~RM1,318 to ~RM1,977). The devices will also focus on performance and gaming, with a high-quality display. When it comes to 'flagship', Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 must be the chip that popped up in your mind, but the source mentions that it could go for the Mediatek Dimensity 9000 or other older flagship-level SoCs.

Furthermore, it's said that the brand might sacrifice some tech specs like the cameras, IP rating, and wireless charging support to lower the cost, so it might not be an all perfect flagship that you're expecting. However, we'd be delighted to see the brand's new devices and how they perform even with a low price.
