The alert slider has been an iconic feature of OnePlus smartphones since the beginning. If you're a fan of it, you might be disappointed with this new report claiming that the company will not provide the slider to all future OnePlus smartphones but some.
Tipster Yogesh Brar says that OnePlus plans to only equip the "Pro" models with the alert slider. Therefore, in a flagship series, only the Pro models would get it. Yes, you've heard it right, not even the standard flagship device can have it. For example, if this claim turned out to be accurate, the upcoming OnePlus 10 would lack the slider, but the OnePlus 10 Pro still comes with it.
OnePlus may be going though an identity crisis after merging with OPPO. The brand now launches rebranded OPPO and realme smartphones mostly rather than creating its own. If the alert slider representing part of the brand had to be gone, we're afraid that OnePlus would lose some fans, or even existing users, as it strays far away from uniqueness.
