OpenAI has launched a new service called Operator, an artificial intelligence (AI) agent that can automate web tasks instead of human workers. Operator is built on the GPT-4o model and can recognise information displayed on the screen, allowing it to understand the website interface and manipulate input using the mouse and keyboard. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, it can also interact with any website without accessing a separate API. Plus, Operator can self-correct mistakes if they get stuck while performing a task on the web. They will only request human assistance if they need to enter sensitive information such as logging into an account related to the task.

In addition, to make Operator a reality, OpenAI has partnered with DoorDash, Instacart, OpenTable, Priceline, StubHub, Thumbtack, and Uber. ChatGPT Pro customers can use operator to direct them to make grocery purchases simply by giving voice commands. At this point, Operator is classified as a research product and is only accessible to ChatGPT Pro customers in the United States for $200 per month.
