OpenSys Technologies has officially introduced their prototype Palm-based cashless payment system aptly called PalmWav. Previously seen mostly in China, it could soon let Malaysians pay with just a wave of their hands or to be more precise their palms.
A subsidiary of OpenSys (M) Bhd., the OpenSys Technologies PalmWav system is interoperable with PayNet's MyDebit network. It could soon mean that you'd never have to bring around a device or smartphone to make cashless payments.

Is it already available in Malaysia?
Demonstrated at the Kom.Fi Café and Bread Maison, PalmWav authenticates palms within seconds and is powered by Tencent Cloud AI. All you need to do is sign up via the PalmWav mobile app and register at the participating merchant outlets.
It does mean that the responsibility to have the palm reading device powered up and available is more on the seller though. There's also no mention of any battery powered version either, so it could just be for indoor sellers or those with permanent locations.
What do you think? Would you want to register your palms just to make cashless payments? Share your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave.com.
