The vivo NEX 3 5G has already been officially available in Malaysia for a few days now, and from the name, people would immediately think of the 5G connectivity. Granted, 5G networks themselves have not rolled out yet in Malaysia but the phone is definitely more than just that. So in this article, we will be taking a look at the camera capabilities of the vivo NEX 3 5G first.

Just to recap, the NEX 3 5G features a triple rear AI camera module that comprises of a 64MP (main, f/1.8) + 13MP (ultra-wide, f/2.2) + 13MP (telephoto, f/2.5) sensor. On the other hand, this flagship phone also retains an Elevating 16MP front-facing camera that can pop-up within less than a second. Without further ado, let's check out the photo samples below!

64MP mode - Utilize the software!

64MP mode can be found in 'more' from the camera user interface on the right side

64MP mode is best used when you want to capture the colour contrast, or even like this to make the subject stand out

13MP ultra-wide angle lens - No quality loss

For most situations like these, the ultra-wide angle mode is certainly useful

It's safe to say that there wasn't much image quality loss there

13MP telephoto lens - Zone out the surrounding

The vivo NEX 3 5G also has a telephoto lens which also uses a 13MP sensor. Useful for using bokeh effect, you can see that there's no weird 'invisible shield' outline on it

Useful for zooming in, it still manages to retain the quality quite well

Macro mode - The little things!

We have heard about how great the macro mode is on the vivo NEX 3 5G, so naturally, we took it for a spin and this is the result!

The macro mode is certainly impressive, look at that detail!

Bonus - Selfie!

Last but not least, here's a selfie photo taken on the vivo NEX 3 5G with AI beauty mode turned on

Overall, our first impression of the vivo NEX 3 5G has been quite positive. Personally, my favourite ones are the macro and ultra-wide angle as the camera software is able to retain much of the texture and colour quality. While the bokeh mode already looks quite good, we did notice some room for improvement, as the overexposure might be a tad too much but it's still a pretty good shot. We are currently reviewing the vivo NEX 3 5G so we will be taking more photos to see how much more it can go.

The vivo NEX 3 5G is currently available in Glowing Night for RM3899 at every vivo Concept store, authorized dealers, Lazada, Shopee and its online store. Let us know what you think of the photos in the comments below and stay tuned for more first impression and hands-on articles at TechNave.com.
