When it comes to data security, Facebook can never seem to get a break. The company has reportedly made another booboo where its system allowed over 5000 apps to have access to the data of users, despite them being inactive for 90 days.

In case you didn't know, Facebook has a mechanism that is supposed to block apps from accessing the data of users who have not been using Facebook for at least 90 days. But according to TechSpot, there was a bug to the system and it failed to kick in. Facebook has confirmed that the issue was fixed the day after it was discovered.

Fortunately, Facebook said that the issue only affected users under certain scenarios. For example, if a user were to be invited by friends to apps that have access to the data. Those who are invited this way will have their data shared to the app, despite not being active anymore.

While this may not be that big an issue for some, it shows that Facebook still has issues when it comes to user privacy. With that said, what else do you think Facebook needs to do to improve on its privacy protection? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
