Following his meeting with Elon Musk, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has revealed that the billionaire has agreed to make significant investments in our country. These include collaborations with the Malaysian government under Tesla, SpaceX and Starlink.
As reported by BERNAMA, Anwar said that Musk conveyed the matter to him personally during their virtual meeting today. The Prime Minister further lauded the collaboration, asserting that it will create tens of thousands of skilled job opportunities in our country.
Among others, Musk agreed to set up Tesla headquarters in Cyberjaya and to collaborate with three Malaysian companies in the project with SpaceX. As for Starlink, the collaboration will involve internet access and connectivity which would provide affordable direct internet access to rural areas, schools, and universities.
In fact, Musk assured that priority will be given to Malaysia in regard to Starlink satellite services. The billionaire also shared his intention of visiting Malaysia soon.
