POCO F8 Pro and Ultra are certified, suggesting a possible launch soon

The POCO F7 series was first launched in March 2025, which is just over 7 months ago. But the POCO F8 series is already set to debut soon, with two models recently certified in Thailand. This could mean a Malaysian launch is also coming soon, but let's take a look at some details first.

Pro and Ultra models confirmed

As spotted by @ZionsAnvin, the POCO F8 Ultra and POCO F8 Pro have been certified by Thailand's NBTC (the equivalent of our SIRIM). The certifications don't reveal much about the two devices nor reveal their designs. But it does confirm the names and lists them under Xiaomi. For those unaware, POCO previously broke away from Xiaomi but was folded back in 2024.

Rebranded Redmi K90 series

For your info, Xiaomi's more affordable Redmi K series gaming phones are often rebranded as POCO devices for the global market. In fact, the recently launched Redmi K90 Pro Max is most likely the POCO F8 Ultra. Similarly, the Redmi K90 Pro and Redmi K90 should launch globally as the POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8, respectively.

Expected specs and price

Since the POCO F8 series is essentially a rebranded Redmi K90 series, the specs should be identical. For example, the POCO F8 Ultra should come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a 6.9-inch 2K 120Hz AMOLED display, and a 7560mAh battery. There's a chance the POCO version could have different specs, but it should be mostly the same.

Furthermore, we can roughly estimate the prices for the POCO F8 Ultra. The Redmi K90 Pro Max launched in China for 3999 yuan (~RM2355), so we can expect it to be in the sub-RM2500 range. Would you be interested in buying the phone at that price range? Let us know in the comments below!
