The new era of the POCO M series has begun. Today, the POCO M5 and M5s have debuted globally. Before moving on to the tech specs, it's worth mentioning that the POCO M5 borrows the same back panel design from the M4 Pro 5G, while the POCO M5s is a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 10S. Therefore, you might find these new devices familiar.
Starting with the POCO M5, it has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD carrying a waterdrop notch, alongside a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device gets fueled by an Helio G99 chipset, paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There's also a 5,000mAh battery supporting 18W fast charging. For the camera, the POCO M5 features a 50MP primary sensor assisted by 2MP depth and 2MP macro lenses. It uses an 8MP sensor for selfies.
On the other hand, the POCO M5s comes with a centre-aligned punch-hole AMOLED display measuring 6.43-inch. It gets equipped with an Helio G96 chipset and packs 4GB RAM plus up to 128GB internal storage. Furthermore, the device runs on a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 33W fast charging. The M5s also sports a quad-rear camera setup comprising a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth lens. There is a 13MP selfie camera on the front.
The POCO M5 starts at Rs 10,499 (~RM588) for the base 4/64GB variant to Rs 12,499 (~RM700) for the 6/128GB option in India. Meanwhile, the POCO M5s costs EUR 209 (~RM928) and EUR 229 (~RM1,016) for the 4/64GB and 4/128GB variants respectively. The 6/128GB trim costs EUR 249 (~RM1,105). It's unsure when the devices are coming to Malaysia, but it could be soon.
