If you recall, POCO announced that the POCO X6 series would launch on 11 January 2024. Since then, some information about the new devices has been confirmed, such as the chipset and OS version. Now, we also have an update on the display.
According to POCO, the new POCO X6 series smartphones will have displays powered by CrystalRes technology. The CrystalRes Screen outputs images of up to 1.5K resolution at low power consumption, so you can enjoy videos or games in high resolution but not drain the battery too fast. With the 5100mAh battery (5000mAh for POCO X6 Pro) and 67W turbocharging, you at least won't have to worry about the phone dying while you're in an intense game.
In addition, POCO is keeping the Flow AMOLED display found in last year's X5 series. If you refer to the POCO X5 Pro, you can see that it has very thin bezels. In fact, POCO announced that the display for the X6 series would have a screen-to-body ratio of 94%. That means it'll feel more immersive when watching videos or playing mobile games. On top of all that, the display will have a high 1800 nits max brightness, DC dimming mode, and intelligent screen adjustment technology for better eye comfort in prolonged movie or gaming sessions.
So far, it's confirmed that there will be two models for the POCO X6 series - the POCO X6 and POCO X6 Pro. Last week, POCO also confirmed the chipsets. The former will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset, while the latter is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra chipset. Best of all, the two phones are expected to retail around the USD 300-350 price range (~RM1395-1628), making them very affordable mid-range devices with many flagship features (like the display).
