In a milestone move for PRO-NET, the official distributor of Proton e.MAS and smart Malaysia vehicles, the company has officially handed over a fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) to the Ministry of Transport (MOT). The handover, which took place on 26 August, aligns with the national Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB) 2021–2030 and reinforces PRO-NET’s role in driving the country’s transition to sustainable transportation.

 

Ceremony Highlights

The handover ceremony was held at the MOT headquarters in Putrajaya and officiated by the Honourable Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke. Representatives from PRO-NET and other automotive brands were present to mark the occasion. The event also featured two key segments: the launch of Majlis Pelancaran Bulan Kebangsaan Kementerian Pengangkutan & Sambutan Ulang Tahun Perbadanan Aset Keretapi (RAC) ke-33, and the Simbolik Penyerahan Kenderaan EV kepada Kementerian Pengangkutan dan Kempen Kibar Jalur Gemilang.

 

Proton e.MAS 7, smart #1 & smart #3: EVs for Policy in Action

The EV fleet delivered by PRO-NET includes Malaysia’s top-selling EV, the Proton e.MAS 7, along with the smart #1 and smart #3. These vehicles offer government stakeholders direct exposure to EV performance, range capabilities, and real-world usability.

By enabling hands-on experience, the initiative supports Malaysia’s goal of achieving 15% electrified vehicle adoption by 2030 and helps inform policy development, infrastructure planning, and long-term strategies for nationwide EV integration.
