This may have been a rough year for many, but that hasn't stopped Panasonic from launching several new cameras. There's the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) Lumix G100 back in July, followed by the full-frame Lumix S5 in September. Now, there's another camera with an unusual form factor - the Lumix BGH1.
According to the product page, Panasonic BGH1 is a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera with a box-like design. Unlike most mirrorless cameras, which are more for standard photography, it's designed with mostly video recording in mind. It has a 10.2MP sensor with Dual Native ISO for excellent image quality in low-light conditions. Also, it supports 10-bit Cinema 4K at 60fps or 1080p at 240fps.
Panasonic is marketing the BGH1 as a camera for live streams, broadcasts, and cinema. It can even be used as a camera for a large drone. In terms of features, it also comes with Power over Ethernet, remote control via mobile app, simultaneous live output using HDMI, and more. You can also control up to 12 of these with the LUMIX Tether for Multicam PC software, which can be useful for broadcasting or live streaming with multiple perspectives.
