It's been over 3 years since the Lumix GH5

The Panasonic Lumix series is popular when it comes to mirrorless cameras and its latest model was set to be announced at Photokina 2020. Unfortunately, the event had to be cancelled and so far there hasn't been an official update on the Lumix GH6. Now, a recent rumour has suggested that the camera could be unveiled in August or September 2020.

According to TechRadar, the rumour originated from a fan group for Panasonic and Olympus cameras. The post claims that Panasonic could announce the Lumix GH6. GH6V, and GH6X in August or September 2020, with the official product release set for early 2021. Like the Lumix GH5, these models are expected to focus on video recording.

The rumour also revealed a few specs for the upcoming cameras, such as the fact that they will be using a 41MP Sony IMX594CQR sensor, which is double the pixel count of its predecessor. Additionally, the rumour claims that they will come with longer battery life, new in-body image stabilisation, new autofocus system, and video recording in 4K, 6K or even 8K.

As usual, these are unconfirmed rumours from a social media post with no source to back it up, so it's best to take what's been said with a grain of salt.
