Panasonic recently announced it's new line of tough 'Six-proofed' microSDHC memory cards. The 'Six-Proof' actually refers to 6 types of damage that usually affects memory cards which includes:

  • water
  • static electricity
  • magnetic fields
  • x-rays
  • heat
  • internal overheating

Through a new 'fuse' function each memory card can protect itself from generating too much heat and fire internally, so you won't get any exploding or melting memory cards. The Panasonic microSDHC memory cards come in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB sizes using MLC NAND flash memory chips. Through their new UHS-I (Ultra High Speed-I) standard, they now offer a top speed of 45MB/s with a writing speed up to 25MB/s. These 'Six-Proof' Panasonic microSDHC cards should be officially available on 13 July 2013.
