While the Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 first came out early in the year back at CES 2013, Panasonic's 20-inch 4K display tablet is finally available for the crazy price of $6000 (RM19179). Since it is aimed at higher-end users like engineers and architects, the price isn't so shocking for that industry but normal consumers can simply marvel at both the tablet and the price tag. For now, tech specs for the Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 tablet includes an IPS Alpha 20-inch display with 3850 x 2560 pixel resolution. This results in a rather low 230 ppi pixel density but you still get eye-popping clarity overall. Other tech specs and features include a 1.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-3437U vPro processor, an NVIDIA GeForce 745M graphics processor with 2GB VRAM, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD storage, 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, US 3.0, SDXC and a 720p front camera. The overall design is rugged in line with the Toughpad range but due to the massive display and demanding hardware, battery life is limited to just 2 hours on a single charge. The tablet will run on Windows 8.1 and Panasonic is currently developing an even more powerful version for 3D modelling and CAD rendering. No details yet on Malaysia release dates or pricing but if you have the money for it, location shouldn't be a problem. Check out the video below:
