A new sighting of the upcoming Perodua QV e-EM1, Malaysia’s highly anticipated electric vehicle (EV), has surfaced — this time without its rear wing, revealing a much clearer view of its sleek, sloped roofline and distinctively notched tailgate.
While the EV remains under wraps in terms of full specs and pricing, the fresh look adds to the growing excitement as Perodua ventures into the local EV space.
The unique design is eye-catching
Captured during testing, the prototype shows off a sporty design that leans toward a coupe-SUV profile, ditching the traditional upright stance for a more dynamic silhouette.
The absence of the rear spoiler this time around gives us a better look at the sculpted tailgate, which features a notched design and high-mounted taillights — something we haven’t seen before on a Perodua.
The camouflaged unit was also fitted with stylish wheels and body-colored panels, suggesting that the production-ready model is getting close to the finish line.
Although no official details were revealed, the current appearance aligns closely with earlier spy shots and concept hints from Perodua over the past year.
What to expect
Perodua has not announced a confirmed release date or pricing for the QV e-EM1, but previous reports suggest it could debut as early as late 2025. There are also expectations that it may be priced competitively to serve as an entry-level EV for Malaysian drivers.
While the full tech specs, battery range, and features are still under wraps, Perodua’s move into electric mobility is part of Malaysia’s broader national push for greener transportation solutions.
As EV incentives continue under government support, the QV e-EM1 may just become one of the most accessible local EVs once launched.
