The Malaysian automaker Perodua has revealed a new home AC wallbox charger designed for its forthcoming QV?E electric vehicle, set to launch later this year. According to PaulTan.org, the charger delivers advanced features rarely found in standard home units and aligns with Perodua’s broader push into the EV ecosystem.

Elevated Home Charging Technology

The new wallbox supports up to 7 kW AC charging, housed in a distinctively styled two-tone wood and black plastic finish. A prominent 6.0-inch touchscreen serves as the user interface, while a built-in 5-megapixel CCTV camera mounted in the top right corner allows live monitoring of the charging unit and surrounding area via the accompanying app. Below the camera, a vertical light bar and ambient lighting provide visual status cues.

Perodua integrates the charger with its “P-Circle” super-app (read more about the app here), enabling functionalities such as scheduling charging sessions, remote monitoring, and multi-user access. The wallbox is IP55-rated for outdoor durability and supports card or password access for multiple users—located between two Perodua logos on the unit itself.

Ecosystem Expansion

The wallbox forms part of a broader EV ecosystem introduced by Perodua. Ahead of the QV-E’s launch, the company also showcased a mobile charger concept called “P-Charge Mobile” — a portable 184 kWh power-bank capable of providing DC charging at up to 60 kW, aimed at supplementing public charging infrastructure.

Perodua did not exactly reveal the launch date, but it is possible that we could see it by the end of November, according to the source. Whenever that is, the new smart home charger means a more seamless home charging experience, enhanced connectivity, and smarter usage of EV infrastructure for Malaysian consumers.
