Today at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 in Serdang, Perodua just unveiled its Perodua eMO EV concept. This is the closest look yet at its first fully electric vehicle, set to debut in Q4 2025. Here's everything we know about the EV so far.

According to a source, the eMO has evolved from the earlier eMO-II hatchback into a sporty SUV-crossover, standing out with its 18-inch wheels and Vantablack-style exterior. Perodua said it was designed with a “sporty silhouette and strong side character,” featuring hidden door handles and full-width LED bars. What you see now in the images here is "very, very close" to the final production model.

The eMO is confirmed to use Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) in Malaysia, with buyers leasing the CATL-supplied LFP battery, enabling lower vehicle prices and addressing concerns over battery degradation and resale value. Alternatively, customers can choose to purchase the battery outright with an 8-year warranty, and Perodua is exploring a guaranteed future value (GFV) scheme for the target market.

Performance targets for the eMO include a 400–410 km range, 0–100 km/h in 6–7 seconds, and a top speed of 165 km/h. Pre-production is slated to begin in September 2025, with Perodua set to manufacture 500 units per month at a new BEV plant in Sungai Choh.

With that, we will have to wait and see what the full specification details of the EV, prices and availability are in Q4 of 2025. Given the BaaS offer, there is a good chance that the eMO could cost below RM100K. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
