Petaling Jaya IPD receives high-tech drone worth RM60000

The Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) has received a high-tech Drone unit as a result of a donation from QI Tower Group Malaysia. The drone handover ceremony has already taken place at Menara QI Tower, Petaling Jaya yesterday afternoon. So, what should you know about it?

The program started with a Drone handover session delivered by the Director of QI Tower Group Malaysia Mr. Krishna Kumar, to YDH Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, ACP Shahrulnizam bin Ja'afar. Next, flight gimmicks and the introduction of Drones. This drone equipped with high-resolution surveillance capabilities worth RM60,000 is to improve the efficiency of crime prevention. Among the main features of this drone are face recognition, and heat sensors which can detect fires from the ground floor up to the 36th floor of the building and above.

It also has a flight radius of three miles (4.8 kilometres) with a battery capable of operating for 30 minutes. The use of drones also facilitates the access of the police in carrying out surveillance in areas that are difficult to reach. IPD Petaling Jaya said this donation can also help the PDRM to implement effective crime monitoring and prevention to reduce the 'Fear Of Crime ' among the community under the administration of IPD Petaling Jaya.
