This week, Philips officially introduced the Airfryer 5000 Series in Malaysia. Announced in Kuala Lumpur on 5 February 2026, the new model marks Philips’ first local debut of an air fryer that combines steaming, air frying and SteamFry functions in a single appliance, aiming to redefine everyday home cooking.
SteamFry Technology and More
At the core of the Airfryer 5000 Series is SteamFry technology, which blends steam and hot air cooking to deliver food that is crisp on the outside while remaining juicy and moist on the inside. Philips says this approach helps retain moisture and nutrients, addressing a common limitation of conventional airfrying methods.
The appliance also supports dedicated steam and fry functions, giving users flexibility to switch between cooking styles depending on the dish. Rapid Air Technology ensures fast and even heat circulation, helping to avoid burn spots while maintaining consistent results.

The Airfryer 5000 Series features a 7.2 litre capacity, making it suitable for families and for preparing complete meals in a single cooking cycle. Beyond cooking, the air fryer includes a Steam Wash self-cleaning function that uses steam to loosen grease and residue after use, making maintenance easier and less time-consuming for busy households.
Media Launch Showcases Real World Use
The Airfryer 5000 Series was officially unveiled during an exclusive media launch in Kuala Lumpur attended by more than 50 journalists, lifestyle content creators and invited personalities. Guests experienced live cooking demonstrations, hands-on product sessions and tastings that showcased how the combination of steam and airfrying can elevate everyday dishes with minimal effort.

A key highlight of the event was a live cooking demonstration by influencer and content creator Shafique Cute, who showcased how the SteamFry function helps maintain food texture and nutritional value. This was followed by a SteamFry showdown led by Chef Sarah Huang Benjamin, where guests tested the appliance themselves, reinforcing its versatility, ease of use and consistent performance.
