The pandemic this year has hit a lot of businesses hard, Malindo Air just recently did a retrenchment, small businesses are struggling to survive and the economy is affected badly. However, it's a different story for Niantic, the makers of Pokemon GO as they have passed over the $1 billion mark this year alone.

According to the Sensor Tower Store Intelligence, not only does this mean Niantic is doing super well but it also obviously shows that the Pokemon GO mobile game is still going strong as ever. Compared with the app's first debut in 2016, Niantic earned $832 million which was impressive. Their revenue dropped in the next year with a -29% decrease, but they slowly climbed back up steadily thanks to the loyal fans around the world.

By right, Pokemon GO shouldn't be earning this much due to the pandemic and the nature of the app encourages players to go out. Despite the pandemic, Niantic adapted to the situation and released many stay-at-home features so that the players can keep playing like the way it was. Very nice.
