With electric vehicles (EVs) getting increasingly more government support, even delivery companies are adding electric-powered delivery vehicles to their fleet. The same goes for Pos Malaysia, which has added new electric vans to its delivery fleet.

136 new vehicles

Earlier today, Pos Malaysia announced that it has received 136 Maxus eDeliver electric vans from Weststar Maxus and Yinson GreenTech. These 136 vehicles now join a fleet of 1252 two-wheel and 264 four-wheel all-electric delivery vehicles, further reducing the company's carbon emission footprint.

Aiming for environmental sustainability

The announcement was held in conjunction with World EV Day and shows Pos Malaysia's commitment to its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. Pos Malaysia expects to achieve a fully electric delivery fleet by 2030 and completely reduce its carbon emissions footprint to net zero by 2050.

At the announcement ceremony, Pos Malaysia CEO Charles Brewer said, "The sleek new vans are packed with modern features, making every route more efficient and every delivery a smoother experience. So, keep an eye out, we will be delivering the cleaner, greener smile in the last mile - The future of delivery is electric!"

The next time you're expecting a Pos Malaysia delivery, you might see one of these new electric vans show up at your door. With that said, how much of an impact do you think the shift to EVs would make for a delivery company? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
