In March, the Nubia Red Magic 5G was launched with the flagship-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. Other than that, the gaming-centric device also came with other impressive tech specs like 16GB of RAM, 144Hz refresh rate, and 55W fast charging. Now, the president of Nubia has teased the upcoming Red Magic 5s on his social media, hinting at a Snapdragon 865+ upgrade.

Ni Fei, the President of Nubia, posted a picture on his Weibo with a caption confirming the name of their next-generation gaming smartphone. Besides the name, he has also included words "Beyond Plus" to hint the use of the latest Snapdragon 865+ chipset. Therefore, we could see another gaming device to come with the powerful chipset other than the ASUS ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion gaming smartphone.

According to the brand's launching window, the Nubia Red Magic 3s with Snapdragon 855+ was launched a few months after the Red Magic 3 with Snapdragon 855. It is not surprising that the Red Magic 5s would be launched soon with the newly debuted chipset, as the "s" version would not bring any major upgrades other than the processor. However, it is expected to come with a larger battery, 5G support for faster connectivity, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS for faster storage.
