For your information, the Tesla Model Y which was sold in advance on 20 July 2023 and was originally offered for RM 199000. Now, the price starts from RM 191000. In addition, the Model 3 which went on sale last year, also received a price reduction. The base version of the Model 3 has been sold for RM 181000 compared to the original price of RM 189000. Plus, the Model 3 Long Range AWD has been reduced from the price of RM 218000 to RM 210000.

Interestingly, this price reduction is in line with the price reduction that Tesla is doing all over the world. This is possibly the result of increased economies of scale or the use of new technology. That allows cost prices to decrease when the manufacturing process and increased sales bear fruit. Two days ago Tesla announced that it will launch an affordable EV next year. So, seeing what they have planned for the future will be interesting.
