The preparations for Malaysia’s deployment of 5G have progressed smoothly after the 5G technology exhibition was held in April last year. With that said, the 5G commercial services are expected to be launched in the third quarter of this year as planned.

Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir believes that Malaysia will become an advanced country in 2025 instead of 2030 if China uses the 5th generation communication technology (5G) properly. He also mentioned that he was amazed at it after visiting the exhibition for 2 days in Langkawi, he could do a lot of things that could not be done before. As the 5G technology does not only makes the use of existing applications smoother but also accelerates the realization of autonomous driving and remote surgery.
