Those of you who enjoy car games have probably heard of the Project Cars franchise, so you should know that it's slightly different from other car games. Where games like Forza Motorsport tend to be more of an arcade racer, Project Cars is meant to be more of a car simulator. But the newly released Project Cars 3 launch trailer seems to show that the game is moving towards the former.
Slightly Mad Studios has unveiled the trailer for Project Cars 3 and it's got some fans riled up. According to Tweaktown, this is because these fans enjoy the game due to its more hardcore nature. It's not the easiest game to pick up, with aspects like car handling and balance somewhat more exaggerated than even in real cars. If you add the greater car customisability, Project Cars 2 was a game that greatly appealed to car enthusiasts.
But back in 2019, Slightly Mad Studios CEO Ian Bell said that Project Cars 3 would be like a spiritual successor to Need for Speed Shift. You can definitely feel that this is the case through the launch trailer, which gave a more casual and arcade racer vibe to it. While there's nothing inherently wrong with that, it could alienate its existing hardcore car sim fanbase.
Personally, I lean more to the casual side when it comes to racing games, so this decision doesn't bother me much. But are there any Project Cars 2 fans out there who are disappointed with this change? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
