Ever had someone bug you on WhatsApp the moment you're connected? Sometimes we just don't want to be disturbed, but people might ignore our 'DND' status. In that case, maybe the best way is to not appear online. Well, here's how that feature could look like if implemented.
WABetaInfo has shared a proposed concept for a "Hide Online Status" feature. It allows WhatsApp users to hide their online status, but they also can't see when other users are online. Ideally, you can still receive your messages when you're appearing offline. Of course, this feature is in the proposed concept, so don't expect WhatsApp to implement it.
However, WhatsApp does have a few new features for its next update and have started beta testing for them. One of them lets you increase the playback speed of audio messages, while another one would allow you to hide your online status from users that aren't on your contact list. WhatsApp is also working on how to block selected users from your contact list from seeing your 'Last Seen' messages (represented as a double blue tick).
