Proton Holdings Bhd (Proton) has officially announced their Proton X90 SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and their first NEV or new energy vehicle. Featuring a 1.5L TGDI engine coupled with a 48V synergy electric motor system, the electric engine is there to provide an extra boost to help improve fuel efficiency and reduce gas emissions.

However, the X90 still needs fuel to run and cannot operate entirely on electricity alone. The X90 joins the X70 and X50 SUVs but no Malaysia price details were provided yet. The X90 will come in 4 variants which include the Standard, Executive, Premium and Perdana with 6 colours consisting of brown, gray, navy blue, ruby red, silver and white.

The X90 is a seven seater and will be equipped with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission with an optimized powertrain. No Malaysia release dates just yet, but it will be assembled in the Proton Tanjung Malim factory. Would you be interested in the Proton X90?
