PROTON recently moved 1400 employees to Tanjong Malim. This is a significant change for the Malaysian based automobile company. So, what should you know about it?

A new facility for 1400 employees

A total of 1400 employees have moved to the modern facility in Automotive High Tech Valley (AHTV), Perak. The factory is now the main production centre for the Saga, Persona, X-series and S70 models, as well as housing the country's first electric vehicle (EV) assembly plant.

With a production capacity of 250000 units per year and Industry 4.0 technology, Tanjong Malim combines the largest R&D department, TGDi engine assembly, and stamping system in Malaysia.

This AHTV also serves as the main export hub for Geely's right-hand drive vehicles in Southeast Asia.
This transition will not only strengthen the local supply chain but also open up high-value job opportunities in the EV and technical services sectors.
