What is Pulse? Pulse is a wireless controller pod to control Nikon and Canon DSLRs shooting functions, it can be attached to a camera’s hot shoe and plugs into its USB port, and can be connected to any Android and iOS smartphones over Bluetooth. Currently Pulse is looking for Kickstarter funding and it’s manufactured by Alpine Labs.

The wireless controller’s range can be measured as far as 30.5m/100ft, through the mobile app the photographer can choose a variety of functions such as remote trigger, shutter speed control, time-lapse, video recording, and exposure ramping, and even thumbnail-quality image preview.

Pulse's size only measures 40 x 60 x 17.5mm and it is compatible with more than 60 Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras, however the Panasonic GH4, Sony cameras are not compatible due to Sony's tethering restrictions. But that doesn’t mean Alpine Labs will not support them, in fact they plan to add other brands in the future down the road. Pulse can control three devices at one time from a single smartphone.

A discounted rate of $74 (RM309.80) is offered by Alpine Labs through its Kickstarter’s campaign, retail price is expected to be $99 (RM414.46) and will be available worldwide starting from April.
