Qualcomm officially launched the Qualcomm 9205 LTE modem chipset earlier. The chipset is made for low power and wide area IoT products and boasts a 70% reduced idle power consumption besides being 50% smaller than its predecessor. The chipset is said to be available next year.

The SoC supports products such as wearables, health monitors, smart city sensors, smart meters and more than just the average smartphone. It is equipped with an A7 processor with a frequency of 800MHz and supports global multi-mode LTE. In addition, it has a battery thermal monitoring capabilities, an operating temperature range between -40 degrees Celsius to 80 degrees Celsius, integrated GNSS and hardened security. I'm honestly just curious to see how far this chipset can go. To find out more about this SoC, make sure to stay tuned to TechNave.com!
