Qualcomm is looking to enter the laptop market after dominating the smartphone market for so long, and with the introduction of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X series of chips , they are right on track with impressive performance and battery life. Qualcomm now appears to be preparing to introduce its next series of chips, Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, Focused Digital , a Chinese website that is often seen leaking information related to the supply chain related to the technology industry, said that it is expected that this series of processor chips is expected to come with a performance increase of 18 to 22 percent compared to the previous model.

Additionally, it has been reported that the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processor will have a Boost Clock value of 4.4GHz, a slight increase from the 4.0-4.3GHz shown by the previous Snapdragon X Elite. It is estimated that this 4.4GHz value is a sustained Boost Clock figure, and this will slightly increase the performance of the CPU.

It is currently unknown what process will be used to manufacture this processor chip. Since the Snapdragon X used TSMC's previous 4nm process, the Snapdragon X2 is expected to use the same or 3nm process to deliver the performance and efficiency gains.

However, the biggest issue Qualcomm will need to address is more related to the amount of software support on the ARM platform versus X86. Qualcomm needs to ensure that their CPUs can support more of the important software used so that the transition to the Arm platform for laptops is smoother.
