Qualcomm has revealed that its Snapdragon mobile processor lineup will be used by Samsung in its upcoming flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. Moreover, Qualcomm also revealed that the Galaxy S23 series will be Snapdragon-exclusive, meaning that Samsung won’t be utilising its in-house Exynos chipsets for the flagship series next year.

This is according to Qualcomm’s Q4 earnings call which can be viewed here. While it was not revealed what Snapdragon chip will be used in the Galaxy S23 series, it is believed to be the upcoming Qualcomm flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which is touted to be released this month.

In the Q4 earnings report, Qualcomm CFO Akash Palkhiwala said that the company has expectations for a strong second half of the March quarter of 2023, which may coincide with the launch of the Galaxy S23 series. Moreover, he also revealed that Qualcomm has moved from a 75 per cent share of chipsets in the Galaxy S22 series to a global share in the Galaxy S23.

This is in addition to the announcement by Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon of a multiyear partnership with Samsung for the South Korean tech giant’s future premium Galaxy products globally. Hence, it is all but confirmed that the Galaxy S23 series will exclusively be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
