Qualcomm introduces Snapdragon 712 with 10% performance over its predecessor

Qualcomm has introduced their brand new processor under the Snapdragon 7 series, the Snapdragon 710. It features support for the Quick Charge 4+, 2,4GHz, 5GHz, and 60GHz WiFi bands.

The Snapdragon 712 is 10mn in size with 8 x Kyro 360 cores that are clocked at 2,3GHz. It comes bundled with the same GPU and DSP as its predecessor, the Snapdragon 710 which are the Adreno 616 and Hexagon 685. Camera and display-wise, nothing has changed over the chipset’s predecessor and it still uses utilises the same Cat. 15 LTE. Here’s a comparison between the Snapdragon 712 and the Snapdragon 710.

Besides that, the SoC also supports Qualcomm’s very own TrueWireless Stereo Plus Technology as well as their Broadcast Audio Technology. While its not that much of a huge step up from its predecessor, it is nice to see that upcoming devices utilizing this chip may come with a variety of brand new features such as quick charge, better performance and maybe even better sound quality.
