Most PCs are powered by Microsoft Windows, with the majority using Intel CPUs. AMD pulls in at second place, while Qualcomm holds some market share now (estimated 9%) with its Snapdragon X Elite CPUs. But what's interesting is that Qualcomm could enable Android PCs.
Android support for Snapdragon X
According to Jukan, Android computers could be in the works. To be exact, the Substack analyst is referring to PCs with Android 16. Qualcomm is allegedly working on making the Snapdragon X and X Elite series CPUs support the latest version of the Android OS. This is based on info extracted from the Android 16 code list.

In case you didn't know, Google announced a plan to merge ChromeOS into Android. The company's plan is to develop a unified platform that can work on tablets, laptops, and other devices with larger screens (like Chromebooks). Qualcomm working on Android 16 support for the Snapdragon X series chipsets would then make sense, as it's likely intended for such devices.
Better app support?
ChromeOS-powered devices never made it to mainstream markets, so Android PCs could be the solution that many users and app developers have been waiting for. Mind you, there is no solid news on any Android PCs at the moment, so don't get too excited yet.
