Qualcomm officially announces Snapdragon 888 Plus at MWC 2021

Today, Qualcomm Technologies Inc. kicked off the first day of the Mobile World Congress 2021 with a new announcement about Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G Mobile Platform. As a follow up to the current Snapdragon 888 chipset, here's what we know so far about the news.

According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 888 Plus is improved further with intelligent entertainment, including AI-enhanced gameplay, streaming, photography, and more – backed by boosted performance in speed and connectivity. The company apparently also integrated a Snapdragon Elite Gaming feature to enhance smooth responsiveness, HD graphics and mobile-first desktop-level.

Compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 888 Plus offers an increased Qualcomm Kryo 680 CPU Prime core clock speed at up to 3.0 GHz and the 6th generation Qualcomm AI Engine with up to 32 TOPS AI performance, which is more than 20% improvement. Christopher Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Handset Business at Qualcomm, said that the new chipset "is synonymous with premium Android experiences".

With that said, we guess we will be seeing new smartphones with a Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset by the end of the year. If you would like to read the full detailed tech specs and features, you can visit the official webpage right here. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
