The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 hasn't been out for that long, but we're already getting news about its successor. An official update from Qualcomm has confirmed that the Snapdragon Summit will be held from 24-26 October 2023, making it about 3 weeks earlier than the one last year.

So what can we expect from the Snapdragon Summit 2023? Qualcomm is definitely going to showcase its next-gen flagship mobile chipset - the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. For your info, this chipset will allegedly be the last to be manufactured on the N4P node. On paper, this suggests that it won't provide that big of a performance jump, as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 uses the same process.

However, some sources claim otherwise. According to Digital Chat Station (via MyDrivers), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will sport a new CPU configuration of 1x Cortex-X4, 5x Cortex-A720, and 2x Cortex-A520 CPU cores. For those unaware, this means that Qualcomm's next flagship chipset will replace two power efficiency cores with two performance cores. Unfortunately, we're not sure how this would impact performance and battery efficiency yet.

Of course, we can't confirm anything, so take our speculation with a grain of salt. For now, we'll keep an eye out for more rumours of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so stay tuned to TechNave for future updates.
