Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has been in the rumour mills for a while and now, we finally have an official date for its release. Taking to its official website, Qualcomm announced that the Snapdragon Summit 2024, which the processor is expected to be announced, will take place in October this year.
Specifically, the event will take place in Maui from 21 to 23 October in Maui, Hawaii. Besides that, nothing much about the next-gen SoC was revealed though.
However, according to rumours, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be built using the TSMC 3nm node. Furthermore, tipsters out there claim that the processor could have a peak clock speed of 4GHz.
What’s confirmed is the first smartphone powered by the new processor, which is the Xiaomi 15 series, as Xiaomi has an agreement with Qualcomm to be the first manufacturer to use the SoC.
