This week, Qualcomm announced the existence of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset at Computex. While the mobile platform did not make an official debut, the company said the next-gen flagship chipset will be coming earlier than usual in September 2025.

From the event, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is set to debut at the Snapdragon Summit from the 23rd to the 25th of September 2025, in Hawaii as usual. This marks a shift from the company's traditional October release timeline, aiming to provide Android manufacturers a competitive edge ahead of the holiday season and in anticipation of Apple's iPhone 17 launch.

According to the source, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to deliver next-gen performance improvements over its predecessor. Built on TSMC's advanced 3nm (N3P) process, the chipset will feature a 6+2 CPU configuration and an upgraded Adreno GPU, reportedly offering up to a 30% increase in graphics performance. Additionally, the new processor will incorporate Arm's v9 instruction set and Qualcomm's Nuvia CPU cores, contributing to enhanced efficiency and processing power.

With that, smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 are expected to hit the market as early as October 2025. Notable upcoming devices include the Xiaomi 16, OnePlus 15, and realme GT8 Pro. However, Samsung may opt out of this generation, as reports suggest the company plans to utilise its own Exynos 2600 chipset for the Galaxy S26 series.
