Recently, both ASUS Malaysia and honor have announced their own budget-friendly phones for the Malaysia market. While they are both priced under RM400, it comes with entry-level tier specifications which are expected and that left many Malaysians a bit down due to the low processor power.

But all that is about to change in the near future, it has been reported that Qualcomm will be adding three new chipsets for the 400 and 600 series - namely the Snapdragon 429, Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 632, and yes, you can bet these new chipsets will have better performance but that's not all, it's said to improve battery life, enhanced graphics, powering dual camera setups and even "AI" features which is great.

Using FinFET architecture, Qualcomm claimed that the SD 429 and 439 are 25% fast and more energy efficient than the predecessors, as well as having faster download speeds for smooth video streaming and web browsing. In addition, the Adreno 504 GPU performance has improved to 50% for rendering graphics while the SD 439's Adreno 505 has a 20% improvement for that. Then for the SD 632, it is 40% better with the Kryo 250 CPU and Adreno 506. You can check out the chart above for reference.

We foresee a number of entry-level Android phones to feature those new chipsets in the second half of 2018. So stay tuned for that as we wait and see which brand will be adopting this!
